After taking you around the Northern Division ,were going to take you further south where players can keep warm and keep their careers going. When Milt Stegall and Damon Allen decide to finally hang up their cleats or Chris Schultz and Matt Dunigan finally decide that its time to get out of doing the color commentator circuit for the CBC or TSN, where better a place to go than to a league that will let them pass on their years of wisdom to a brand new market and a brand new set of football players. Its that touch of Canadian sass and class but with a beach-based vision thats going to make these teams succeed.
The Santiago Sailors:
Money, money, money. After twenty years of nearly uninterrupted economic success, Santiago has become one of South Americas most flourishing cities. Meaning that getting bums into the seats isnt going to be a problem. With Santiago generating almost half of the countrys money, the seats and the sky boxes shouldnt have a problem being filled here.
The La Paz Pirates:
The capital of Bolivia is just begging to be re-made as a football town. Like Denver, its elevated, so high up in fact that at an altitude of 3,600 meters, La Paz is the highest point in all of South America. Its also cold and poor, two things that folks in Hamilton can relate to somewhat Id think. Because its somewhat under-whelmed economically, you can expect the heart and the passion of La Paz to show through in its fans. Geographically, its also a really nice place to play football as well. For cardiovascular training, the players will have a leg up thanks to the thin air, plus, theyll have better throwing time thanks to the extreme elevation theyre working in. With all of these factors together, La Paz cant lose.
The Buenos Aires Bone Crushers:
The cultural and sporting hub of Argentina, Buenos Aires has been the home to many a legendary Argentinean soccer player. Its these roots, that will make the place a thriving home for football. If you can accept and worship the lunacy of Diego Marradonna and make him a national hero, you can certainly open your hearts to a Canadian football league with a new kind of attitude.
The Montevideo Maniacs:
Given that Montevideo is the biggest city in Uruguay, youre not going to have trouble filling the seats. Admittedly its not the most sporting of cities that you can ask for but if you tie in the tourist pulling beaches and the legendary Montevideo harbor and you guaranteed to get folk to show up, even if theyre only in town for the weather. Considered also to be the city in South America with the highest quality of life, youre going to get a different kind of fan, one somewhat more relaxed and hopefully the players will reflect that too. Could it be, the Toronto Argos of the CFLS?
The Asuncion All Stars:
Asuncion is the capital of Paraguay and one of the oldest cities in South American, bringing football here would be like bringing it to Montreal or perhaps Ottawa. With 65% of the citys population under the age of 30 as of last count, Asuncion is rife with youthful energy, something that will be key to making the All-Stars a leading attraction. Get them action, get them girls and get market it right and this could be the Vancouver of the CFLS, a city primed with youthful dynamite and ready to explode with the right sport.
The Brasilia Banditos:
According to local legend, Italian saint Don Bosco in 1883 had a prophetic dream in which he described a futuristic city that roughly fitted Brasilias location. Today, this cosmopolitan urban oasis makes tourists feel like theyre in a sc-fi movie with its elegance and out of this world architecture. Yes, its going to be hard to compete with the national madness that is soccer, but by putting the team in Brasillia, it means youre getting the staff for over 90 different embassies at your beck and call. The North American staff will flock to a new kind of sport and bring their friends wit them and in time, the entire city will adapt to the ways of the CFLS

I really think you're out to lunch on this one. South America doesn't have the interest or the money.
If the NFL can't succeed in Europe with the American hype machine, there is absolutely no way the CFL can succeed in South America. Nor do they have the means to try.

It was a bright sunny afternoon with a fresh breeze blowing from the northeast. The small sloop was making a series of very short tacking maneuvers as it made its way gingerly up the narrow channel. The forest marched down the steep rocky hillsides to abruptly meet the sea below on both shores. The tiny but sturdy craft was tossed precariously by the rip tides created in the close waterway. The sole occupant reset her grip on the tiller and brought the sloop around in yet another tack headed toward a little niche in the eastern shoreline. She was kneeling in the boat's compact wow power leveling cockpit watching carefully ahead for any telltale clues on the water that dangerous rocks lay just out of sight below the surface. She held her course on a starboard tack until she was just past a rocky spur which broke the forest cover and actually spilled over into the sea. When she was about eighty yards from the shoreline she abruptly swung the boat head to the wind bringing it to an almost dead stop in the water. After loosing the sheets on both her jib and mainsails, she quickly scrambled to the bow and let her anchor line out till she felt the anchor touch bottom. She then expertly continued to pay out enough of the line to properly set the anchor, allowing for both safe swinging room as the wind might shift and the expected change of depth as the tides came and went. She had been so occupied with the Business of sailing her small sloop, that she had not noticed that she had an audience. world of warcraft power leveling A tall slim young man in blue jeans, T-shirt and black leather bomber style jacket was sitting on the rocky spur smiling with open admiration at the sailing skill of the woman skipper on the neat little sloop. As she stood from securing the anchor and started to lower and tie down her sails, he arose and quickly walked back up into the trees behind him. So she never knew that her arrival had been noted. When the sloop was secured to her satisfaction, Katherine went below and put a tiny kettle on the single burner in the diminutive galley. As she waited for the water to boil, she pulled a thick dog-eared ring binder out of a wow gold shelf to the left of the companionway and opened it to the last entry. This book served a dual purpose as a ship's log and personal journal. She noted her time of arrival and location of the tiny sheltered anchorage, the weather which was close to perfection for a sailor and a personal note that this seemed a great spot in which to write and create.

For decades, the Twin Ports' economic landscape was planted firmly in big business such as manufacturing, shipping, and mining. Although these trades are still vital to our economy, today's technological advances are sowing the seeds of a new entrepreneurism that is allowing more people to jump the corporate ship and test the waters of going into business for themselves. Home-based businesses in our region have emerged from the shadows in recent years and proven that they can have a measurable impact on a local economy. We spoke with several area home-based business people about why this impact will continue wow power leveling, to grow in coming years. In addition to offering tips on how to start a home-based business, they also explain why membership in the Chamber of Commerce is even more important to those who go it alone. Mark Anthony, president of the Home-Based Business Association of Minnesota, operates an extremely infon-native web site on the subject (www.hbba.org). Anthony believes that Duluth is ripe for more home-based businesses. He says, "Duluth and the Iron Range are explosive right now in regard to this trend. We've had a lot of inquirie from the area." Anthony says that a bias once attached to this type of business is eroding. "There is still a stigma with home-based businesses among dyed in the wool corporates," begins Anthony. "Just five years ago, it was like pulling teeth to get someone to admit that they worked out of the home. Now, it's become almost a status symbol." Perhaps the image of home-based busi ness is improving because more people are realizing that its contribution to the community is no nickel and dime matter. "Home-based business people spend their money locally and it adds up to thousands annually," says Anthony. "Cities need to encourage these businesses, because they help sustain a local tax base." One local entrepreneur who agrees that these businesses are vital to the economy's health is Ken Nebel, of K.H. Nebel Associates, d/b/a Nebel Financial Services. "If you look at the statistics, businesses that employ one to five people represent a huge segment of the economy," he states. "A lot of these businesses are home-based. We are lucky here, because we don't have the zoning restrictions and other obstacles that home-based business faces in the Cities." Nebel affirms that home-b world of warcraft power leveling, ased business people are strongly committed to their communities and prove that with their spending habits. He says, "I've found that Samls Club has terrific deals on office equipment. Sam's Club is the home-based-business supplier for Duluth. Its manager, Jim Caesar, another Chamber memher, is very supportive of the small businessperson." John Pegg started the Entrepreneurs' Connection organization in Duluth two years ago. "We are definitely growing," Pegg says. "We have about 100 people on our mailing list and I continue to meet more people who are looking for more options." Home-based businesses are also changing how larger companies operate. Mary Smestad owns Positive Solutions, and is a customer service consultant. She points out that more corporations are turning to contract services to protect their bottom line. "It's a great selling point for my business," explains Smestad, "To tell a company that, by hiring me on a short-term basis, they save money on taxes, annual salary and benefits. I think home-based businesses in Duluth will really take off when more companies learn the benefits of using their services." All of our contacts agree that Chamber membership is not just for storefront businesses and large corporations. "The smaller the business, the more important Chamber participation is," says Ken Nebel. "My best clients came from referrals from other Chamber members." Mary Smestad adds, "The networking is so important, and so is the education about other companies. It's also a great morale boost for me - the Chamber is sort of my cheerleader." If you are considering starting your own business, heed the seasoned advice of those who have gone before you: get informed and be prepared. "You're going to be blindsided some months, no matter how good your business plan looks on paper," says Smestad who attended classes at The University of Minnesota Duluth's (UMD) Center for Business Development before starting Positive Solutions. "All of the freedom - flexible schedule, being in wow power leveling, charge of my own destiny - comes with a price; you're giving up the security of that monthly paycheck. Discipline and selfmotivation are key. For every day you take off, there's an 18-hour day to make up for it. Know there's a big learning curve at first; learning when the slow months will occur, so the next year, you can plan ways to fill those gaps." Smestad says that the classes at UMD and at Lake Superior College provided her with excellent preparation and support. Beth Travis-Betts, owner of Art Direction and Advertising agrees. "I took small-business classes at UMD and at Lake Superior College. You learn how to determine profit and loss statements, how to mark-up a product, how to register with the State as a business, and how to handle tax issues. In fact, the instructor actually comes to your house once a month for the first year to assist you with start-up." Travis-Betts explains why education is so important to a home-based business. "One gets pretty isolated working at home, and these days you have to keep up with new technology to stay competitive." She also offers a little advice on how to create a business image without spending a lot of money. "The phone company has resources such as market extension lines. They allow you to have two numbers, world of warcraft power leveling, a residential and business phone number, with only one phone line. That way, you r business can be listed in the Yellow Pages. Home-based businesses have sparked entire industries that cater to them. Use the Internet to find better rates on fax lines, phone systems, and other tools." Marge Johnson has operated a management consulting firm out of her North Shore home for four years. She stresses the importance of research to would-be entrepreneurs. "Be sure there is market demand for what you're doing. Does the market need your service?" asks Johnson. "I interviewed other consultants and potential customers before starting my business." Again, all of our contacts concur that involvement with the Chamber is crucial to building business. Says Johnson, "The Chamber provides the most current, succinct information about the local business climate. It's a critical place to meet potential clients." Beth Travis-Betts notes, "It's where I get most of my business." In addition to referrals from Chamber members, Mary Smestad started building a clientele with a letter-writing campaign. "I wrote a lot of letters to past contacts from my previous job and asked for referrals." "People buy from people they know," quips Arlene Soden, a local business development consultant and home-based business owner. Entreprenuerism is part of America's heritage and today's technology-based economy is allowing more people to realize their dream of working for themselves. Many believe that the future of the home-based business culture in Duluth is taking shape right before our eyes on a construction site located in the old downtown. Mark Anthony comments, "With the new Soft Center coming to Duluth, home-based businesses will be called upon to help develop software that will place businesses, both large and small, on the cutting edge of technology and help transform this area into a major telecommuting center." Secrets of Success at an Interview The subject of today's talk is interviews. The key words here are preparation and confidence, which will carry you far. Do your homework first. ( ffxi gil) Find out all you can about the job you are applying for and the organization you hope to work for. Many of the employers I interviewed made the same criticism of candidates. "They have no idea what the day to day work of the job brings about. They have vague notions of 'furthering the company's prospects' or of 'serving the community', but have never taken the trouble to find out the actual tasks they will be required to do." Do not let this be said of you. It shows an unattractive indifference to your employer and to your job. Take the time to put yourself into the interviewer's place. He wants somebody who is hard-working with a pleasant personality and a real interest in the job. maple story mesos Anything that you find out about the prospective employer can be used to your advantage during the interview to show that you have bothered to master some facts about the people who you hope to work for. Write down (and remember) the questions you want to ask the interviewer(s) so that you are not speechless when they invite your questions. Make sure that holidays and pay are not the first things you ask about. If all your questions have been answered during the interview, replay: "I did have several questions, but you have already answered them all." Do not be afraid to ask for clarification of something that has been said during the interview if you want to be sure what was implied, but do be polite. wow gold Just before you go to the interview, look again at the original advertisement that you answered, any correspondence from your prospective employer, photocopies of your letter of application or application form and your resume. Then you will remember what you said and what they want. This is very important if you have applied for many jobs in a short time as it is easy to become confused and give an impression of inefficiency. Make sure you know where and when you have to report for the interview. Go to the building (but not inside the office) a day or two before, if necessary, to find out how long the journey takes and where exactly the place is. Aim to arrive five or ten minutes early for the actual interview, then you will have a little time in hand and you will not panic if you are delayed. You start at a disadvantage if you arrive worried and ten minutes late.( wow gold) Dress in clean, neat, conservative clothes. Now is NOT the time to experiment with the punk look or (girls) to wear low-cut dresses with miniskirts. Make sure that your shoes, hands and hair (and teeth) are clean and neat. Have the letter inviting you for an interview ready to show in case there is any difficulty in communication. You may find yourself facing one interviewer or a panel. The latter is far more intimidating, but do not let it worry you too much. The interviewer will probably have a table in front of him/her. Do not put your things or arms on it. If you have a bag or a case, put it on the floor beside your chair. Do not clutch it nervously or, worse still, drop it, spilling everything. ffxi gil,Shake hands if the interviewer offers his hand first. There is little likelihood that a panel of five wants to go though the process of all shaking hands with you in turn. So you do not be upset if no one offers. Shake hands firmly - a weak hand suggests a weak personality, and a crushing grip is obviously painful. Do not drop the hand as soon as yours has touched it as this will seem to show you do not like the other person. Speak politely and naturally even if you are feeling shy. Think before you answer any questions. If you cannot understand, ask: "Would you mind rephrasing the question, please?" The question will then be repeated in different words. If you are not definitely accepted or turned down on the spot, ask: "When may I expect to hear the results of this interview?" If you do receive a letter offering you the job, you must reply by letter (keep a photocopy) as soon as possible. Good luck! aion gold
